Gerona, Tarlac - “Dapat siyang bitayin”.
Thus, said a rape victim here who was sexually abused by a neighbor at their residence at Barangay Abagon around 2 AM last Saturday.
In his report, PSupt Franklin Estoro identified the suspect of “brutal rape” as Erano Baysa, 25, neighbor of victim “Eloisa”.
“Gusto ko siyang mabitay sa ginawa niyang pagmolestiya sa akin”, said the single 19-year old Eloisa who works as a food attendant in a restaurant in Pura town.
“Mga alas dos ng madaling araw ‘yun, mag-isa lang ako sa bahay noon at natutulog na ako, nang pasukin niya ako na may hawak ng patalim. Hindi ako nakasigaw sa takot ko”, revealed Eloisa who, being the neighbor of her assailant, knew him since they were young.
She denied any amorous relationship with the suspect and revealed that Baysa was reeking with alcohol when he molested her.
Baysa refused to issue any statement but it was gathered that his wife is an Overseas Filipino Worker and he is living with his 2 children aged 2 and 4 years old.
According to Estoro, the suspect and the victim were brought to this town’s police station this morning by officials of the Barangay council of Abagon after Eloisa belatedly reported the incident.
“Nais kong magkaroon ulit ng death penalty para matakot ang mga criminal. Dapat bitayin ang mga katulad niya (Baysa)”, also said Eloisa who appears to be suffering from trauma.
The Philippine congress is now in the thick of deliberation to re-impose the death penalty after almost 30 years upon the ratification of the 1987 constitution which banned the penalty of death for capital crimes.
