Armed Forces public affairs office chief Col. Edgard Arevalo said the blast occured at just roughly 10:30 p.m. and was followed by fire. Firefighters hurt the blaze about an hour later.

The cause of the fire has not been complimentary.

Arevalo could not immediately say if there were casualties from the incident.
He dismissed social media reports, especially on Facebook, that terrorists were behind the explosion.

“Walang nangyaring sabotahe o pag atake ng kalaban. More on safety issue ito,” he said. (There’s no sabotage or enemy attack.)
