155 ‘SCALAWAG' COPS UNDERGO 3-MONTH REFORMATION

Tarlac City -- A total of 155 ‘scalawag’ policemen from the 7 provinces and 2 charted cities in
Region 3 were ordered to undergo “reformation“ at the Philippine National Police Region 3 office in Camp Olivas, Pampanga.
“As we are doing our internal cleansing program, reforms are underway to improve the image of the police force. Here in PRO3, we start to conduct this Character and Aptitude Training, which aims primarily to reform those PNP personnel involved in illegal activities, lahat ng mga naliligaw ng landas, at mga pasaway, must go back to the basics, and to observe basic protocol in the PNP”, said PNP Region 3 Director CSupt Aaron Aquino in a press release.
Those ordered to report for the reformation will be subjected to “strenuous” physical, mental and moral re-orientation no-leave-no-absent workshop for 90 days straight at the Camp Olivas grounds.
“This is part of the internal cleansing being undertaken by the PNP to reform some erring policemen. We want to straightened up the ways, attitude and outlook of policemen involved in illegal activities, those with wrong attitude in serving the people, those involve in immoralities, among others. We want all our policemen to be decent, appropriate and model citizens”, said PSupt Ritchie Medardo Posadas, Tarlac Police Provincial Director.
Posadas also said, “24PNCOs (Police Non-Commissioned Officers) from the TPPO were among the 155 ordered to undertake the reformation”. Two among them were policemen Acosta and Macapulay who are assigned at the Gerona Police Station.
It cannot yet be verified if PO2 Rogelio Almazan of the Capas Police is among those undergoing reformation. Almazan was earlier reported to have mulcted a suspected pusher who they said was arrested last year but freed after paying P15,000.
